Lawmaker speaking at press conference about the Trump Epstein memo

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell says a single piece of evidence in the Epstein files raises serious questions that Donald Trump must answer publicly. Speaking on MSNBC’s MS NOW on Saturday, Swalwell accused the Trump administration of violating the law by withholding critical information tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted child sex trafficker.

When asked whether the administration broke the law, Swalwell responded bluntly: “Yes, this is a violation of the law.” He argued that Americans deserve to know whether Trump has any serious connection to Epstein and accused the former president of blocking transparency. “Donald Trump is doing everything to keep us from knowing that,” Swalwell said.

Swalwell pointed to what he described as a deeply troubling memo included in the Epstein files. According to him, the document references a message sent to Epstein stating, “I have a female for him.” The name of the individual who allegedly made the call appears redacted. Swalwell said that omission raises urgent questions about who contacted Epstein and why their identity remains hidden.

Addressing Trump directly, Swalwell asked whether the president truly wants the country to remain in the dark about who made such an offer to Epstein. He added that Democrats have demanded the full release of Epstein-related files for more than a year, accusing Trump of deflecting attention elsewhere instead of allowing full disclosure.
